Dog Training

Jayde is currently only taking on work through Dog A.I.D. and assisting Ellena Hinson with reactive dog classes.

Please find a local qualified dog trainer through the Association of Pet Dog Trainers UK website, or a qualified behaviourist on the Association of Pet Behaviour Counsellors website.

Jayde is a registered instructor with Dog A.I.D. (Assistance in Disability).

Dog A.I.D. is a registered charity that helps people with physical disabilities train their own dogs. The training consists of a three tiered system. Level one, Companion Level, is basic obedience and some useful task training. For some people this is all they require. Level two, is the Advanced Companion Level, and for dogs with all round sociability; this is where dogs acquire further skills and continue the training in the useful tasks that are of help to their owner. At Level 3, Assistance Dog Level, owners and their dogs go out into public places and practice putting these skills into operation. At the end of each level owners & their dogs are assessed and awarded a certificate issued from the office to show their achievements.

All training with Dog A.I.D. is free; however, we do ask for a donation equal to or towards the cost of the trainers' travelling expenses and in some cases the hire of a venue. The agreement for this financial commitment is made prior to the commencement of training and payments are made to the Treasurer so that it goes through the accounts as required by charity law.

If you are physically disabled and would like an informal discussion about your dogs suitability and the criteria for becoming a Dog A.I.D. client please email me jayde.driver@gmail.com

Dog Reactivity Classes

Call 07400 967307 to arrange a consultation.

Dog training and reactivity classes are provided for clients who have one problem with their dog walking on a lead – they lunge, bark at them, or charge towards them – making walks stressful.

To enrol on these classes, your dog must have been vet checked within the last 3 months and be assessed first. This assessment takes around an hour and involves taking a history and testing your dog’s motivation for reacting to other dogs; such as fear, anxiety or frustration.

I then teach you and your dog appropriate techniques to use on walks and to use in the classes when they commence.  Dog training classes run 4-weekly from mid-August and throughout the year and are held in Milton Keynes. Once your dog ‘graduates’ from these classes you will be invited to optional, fortnightly community support walks.

Kindly note: Dogs that have other problems along with dog-dog reactivity (such as aggression towards humans) are advised to go for a Full Behaviour Consultation and then sign up for classes.

If you do have a full behaviour consultation, you will not be charged again for the assessment.

Dog-dog reactivity assessment: £110.00

Four weekly dog-dog reactivity classes: £120.00
